From launching Mighty Drinks at the start of Q3, to scaling into new markets, Lauren and her team have been at the centre of making Mighty run thoughtfully, efficiently, and with the kind of operational discipline that builds long-term trust.
Today, she shares a behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to scale a plant-powered brand.
What is one thing customers don’t realise about making plant-based products at scale?
Lauren:
People often don’t realise how much effort goes into the logistics and handling of products across markets. There are far more aspects to consider than just producing the product, which have a direct influence on how a plant-based product is made, moved and priced.
The company relaunched this year after the acquisition of Mighty Drinks. What did that process look like from an operational perspective? What were the biggest challenges and how did you overcome them?
Lauren:
From an operational perspective, the relaunch meant rebuilding our supply chain. We needed to integrate an entirely new network of suppliers, logistics partners and customers.
How do you maintain operational excellence as Mighty expands into new markets?
Lauren:
This is a good question and is something that we are actively working on. I think the key is to build scalable systems that are also adaptable and to choose partners selectively.
From a team culture perspective, what makes Mighty unique?
Lauren:
All of us in the Mighty team genuinely care about the mission of the company. We have a shared commitment of doing things the right way to grow and succeed.
What excites you about the new Mighty SKUs launching into retail?
Lauren:
New retail products mean that we will have the opportunity to reach new audiences so more people can discover and enjoy Mighty. It is also exciting because expanding the plant based range will help to raise the bar for the category overall.
